During her time at the JCDC, Sarah Mixon worked on the Farish Street Commons and the West Jackson micro parks for flood mitigation projects. She collected site data, created drawings and digital models, and helped to lead discussions at community meetings to refine a project's design. Sarah graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's in architecture in Spring of 2024, and she is currently applying her knowledge and experience gained at the JCDC as an architectural designer in Montgomery, AL. She is also currently testing for her architecture license and hopes to pursue more community-centered design projects.
